| Experience
in my working life has always been related to communicating
with others and the desire to help people in all walks of
life. Being office based at the beginning of my working career
gave me ample opportunities to widen that particular aspect,
and to extend my experience and skills throughout different
job situations.
In 1997, wanting to move onto more creative
work by treating the whole person holistically – in
mind, body and spirit – I
trained as a Reflexologist, then as I enjoyed this type of
work so much, I added other Complementary Therapies along
the way to extend my skill base. This enabled me to work
over the next few years to help clients of both sexes, over
a wide age range with personal, health and emotional issues.
Then Hypnotherapy beckoned! It seemed such
an obvious direction and change for me to work towards, widening
and building on that existing circle of experience still
further. Now, I am proud to be a fully qualified Hypnotherapist,
to have a Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (ncfe accredited)
(NCH) and to be an Accredited Member of the National Council
for Hypnotherapy. If you would like to find out more about
the NCH please go to their website which is www.hypnotherapists.org.uk
The NCH is a member organisation of the UK Confederation
of Hypnotherapy Organisations. UKCHO is an umbrella body
for the hypnotherapy profession, and their aim is to promote
the professional regulation of hypnotherapy within the UK.
On their National Register of Hypnotherapists, I am UKCHO
Registered. If you would like to view the UKCHO website please
go to www.ukcho.co.uk
I am also a Full Member of The Hypnotherapy Association
which is a similar organisation which aims to represent all
professional hypnotherapists in practice, and which is completely
independent of all training organisations or school registers.
If you would like to find out more about the HA please go
to their website which is www.thehypnotherapyassociation.co.uk
Being a member of different organisations such as these allows
me scope and a broader view of professional support within
my therapeutic field, and as a member I am bound by strict
Codes of Ethics and Practice with a commitment to keeping
professionally updated. I receive regular Supervision with
an NCH Accredited Hypnotherapy Supervisor. I am fully insured,
and I have obtained a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) disclosure
check when working with young clients, and am registered
with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) in
accordance with the 1998 Data Protection Act.
Over the last few years I have updated my skills on a regular
basis, extending my learning in training workshops, seminars
and master classes all over the country. These have helped
to increase my understanding and knowledge in areas such
as Stopping Smoking, Weight Management, Irritable Bowel Syndrome,
Working with High Performance Clients, Inner Child Therapy
and Phobias.
I have also undergone and completed theoretical
and practical training with the Cambridge College of Hypnotherapy
in order
to gain my Diploma in Hypnotherapy Supervision, verified
by the ncfe/NCH as a Certified Hypnotherapy Supervisor and
now have Accredited Hypnotherapy Supervisor status (NCH).
These additional qualifications mean that I am now eligible
to offer Supervision/Mentoring as required by our professional
Code of
Ethics
and Practice for the benefit of both practising and newly qualified hypnotherapists
entering our profession. I am also a member of the Clinical
Register of Advanced Hypnotherapists. If you would like to
find out more about CRAH please go to their website which
is www.crah.co.uk
So in addition to reading and absorbing therapeutic
information contained within books and seeking out and receiving
ongoing training, I enjoy and relish the different mediums
of talking to, and helping and supporting clients. I find
that this ongoing blend and mixture of practical application,
therapeutic learning and written knowledge and guidance helps
to keep me grounded, enabling me to be sensitive and responsive
to the needs of each client and up to date with the latest
techniques and knowledge available. |
